I have some large files saved on a PC that are too large to email.

Since we just got a 1 year old Mac I want to transfer these couple of files wirelessly from PC to Mac. The PC and Mac are on same network.

How can I do this?

I am having the same issue - i tried the migration tool but my mac says that it does detect any other CPU on the same network!

Ah sorry but idk what you mean by CPU maybe Computer?

You could if you have an external harddrive (formatted in Fat) copy the files onto there and transfer them to the pc or you could open the sharing preferences in system preferences>Sharing> File Sharing and select options (look at the screenshot).

Than click options and select SMB:

Than copy the files to the public folder found under your username and Than browse the Url on the windows pc.

Thanks for that - i have already set up the file share element on the MBA but still no joy - i have a external HDD, but would this still work if my sole purpose was to move my itunes folder with all my music and films - the other files on the PC im not to bothered about.

Thanks in advance

Still can't find an answer all tutorials tell me to right click on file and choose share file. But when I right click on file there isn't and file sharing option!

Easier option: put your files on a USB key or external HD. It isn't wireless but it's far simpler.
