What would be the best way to transfer files from my PC to Mac.
Yesterday I tried to do it over my wireless network but it was painfully slow! 10gb of music was going to take 17 hours!

Is there a way I could hook up a ethernet running dirrectly from my PC to my MBP? Or could I do this through firewire??

I have about 40+gb of stuff i want to transfer to my new MBP.
Thanks for the help!

Yes, you can simply hook an Ethernet cable between the two machines, and turn on File Sharing. You may need to look into the Network settings of each machine to find the IP address to connect to, or know the machine name/ user name to log on with. Search the forums here for prior threads on this, or go to www.macwindows.com for more info.

(modern Macs auto-switch the Ethernet port so you do not need a crossover Ethernet cable -- a standard one will do.)
