Transfer files via USB?

Is there a way to transfer files from my computer to the Iphone's file system via USB? Im currently doing it via OpenSSH but its too slow for large video files. Any ideas?

If you're on a Mac, I use iPhone explorer, free and works great. Much quicker than SSH'ing when transferring big files across.
