Hello folks,

I just got a MacBook Pro and want to transfer everything on my iMac to it. Backing up from TimeCapsule wirelessly would take too long wouldn't it? There's about 160GB of stuff that needs to be transferred, I don't have any wires to connect the Capsule to the MacBook Pro that's why I'm assuming a wireless transfer would take ages.

I do have everything backed up with Carbon Copy Cloner, if I installed CCC on my MacBook Pro and then transferred the iMac backup onto the MBP would that be ok? I mean would it mess up any drivers or anything else on the MBP? Like the touchepad driver etc?

I see from your previous posts you are on Yosemite, so yeah that will work just fine. All the drivers for both systems are included in Yosemite.

You could always connect both computers through or an ethernet cable and use migration assistant. No need to go through your time capsule at all.
