Transfer iOS Apps to iTunes. How? Backup not OK?

Is your computer authorized in iTunes for your apple account? It's under the Store tab. If you don't authorize the computer, I don't think it will transfer purchases to iTunes on that machine.
Normally it would transfer purchases between the computer and phone during sync, unless you turn it off. You could check by downloading an app in iTunes on the computer and sync'ing again.
