got a new retina macbook after air was stolen. What is a quick way to transfer info with all playlists from the iPhone 4s to the macbook?

If you purchased music off from your iphone itunes music store, you can simply transfer purchases. Connect your iphone to your new MBP, right click on your device and transfer purchases.

Another option: There are third party program that does allow you to transfer your music from your phone to your computer. Search Google.

Try "Phone to Mac". It's not free, but it works very well. Copies everything - music, playlists, movies, tones, etc. to your Mac and sets it all up automatically in iTunes.

I recommend either Senuti (iTunes spelled backwards :D) or iRip. Both work great, but they are paid apps. I can vouch that they work fine on my iPhone 4.

I remember there was a way to do this with iPods a few years back. You could make hidden folders visible and drag and drop. It at least worked for me to move songs from my old pc to my MacBook Pro. I'm sure you can google the instructions.
