I have an iPhone 4 that i use on At&T gophone. It seemed like the easiest solution as i brought my iphone from UK to the US and didn't want to pay for a contract when i didn't need a subsidized phone.

Ive now ordered an iPhone 5 with a new number, i thought trying to transfer a gophone number would just create difficulties during the preorder phase and therefore I decided to take a new number. My telephone number is quite a nice one, therefore when I get my iPhone 5 can i easily transfer my number over?

Whats the easiest way of doing this?
- online
- call at&t
- at&t store?

You can find all the details on this page: http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/transferyournumber.html

First start by checking to see that your current number is portable.

Dave

Thanks for the link Dave, says my number isn't eligible. I'll wait for the dust to settle after iphone 5 launch then pop into a store and see what they can do. A few people have suggested on various websites is to port your number to another carrier (prepaid) then port it back to at&t.

If the new number isn't too bad, then maybe i'll just keep it.
