transfer of sim card to 8GB model

If I transfer the sim card of an activated 4GB iphone to a unactivated 8GB iPhone, will that work? Will the 8GB iPhone automatically activate?
 
No you will have to re activate to the 8gb model. Serial number of phone is attached to SIM.
