Transfer of songs to another computer

Is there anything special that needs to be done to transfer the songs, files, apps to another computer from the iPhone 4? Is it as simple as docking the iPhone on that computer and syncing? What do I need to be aware of to avoid losing music, files or apps?

OK...let me clarify. I want to use a different computer to sync my iPhone. Do I need to do anything special to make sure I do not lose anything off my phone?

if you're going to use iTunes on the other computer you want to transfer on, just use the same account you use to sync your iPhone from the older computer and authorize the iTunes to use your new computer and you should be able to transfer all info from your iPhone to your new computer.
