Transfer photo via text from iPhone to someone's Mac Pro?

I have a 2012 Mac Pro running Sierra and a MacBook Pro running Mojave - both with Messages, but I have never owned a mobile phone or used "texting".

I have a client of mine that has an iPhone and wants to "send me a photo via text"... is this possible?

If so, what do he and I both need to do?
