I connected my iPhone 10 to my computer, checked the 'Trust this computer' option, and logged into my phone. However, I only see one DCM folder, and it's empty. I know there are a lot of photos on my iPhone. Someone said I need to change the USB connection from charging to File transfer mode???? How do I do that?????

iPhone to macOS - I use AirDrop

iPhone to Windows - I use Send Anywhere

I don't connect my iPhone to a computer unless I am upgrading or downgrading iOS using iPSW

If you use Windows go to "This PC" and then right click on "Apple iPhone" and select "Export photos and videos". You do not need to use any software to transfer your photos.

I use PhotoSync to transfer over Wi-Fi from iPhone to folders on my Mac (but can be to Windows or Linux). Paid version on the iPhone. The Mac/Windows/Linux "companion"apps are free. Always works; I have it configured to remember what I have done before and just transfers new photos.
