Well, this is something that would be taken care of when you did a "migration" using setup assistant when you booted the NEW MBP for the very first time.
Did you do that?
Or... did you do it "the not-so-correct way" and create a new account on the new MBP using your old username and password? WITHOUT a "migration"?
It might be possible to "manually move" the relevant printer preferences from the old one to the new one, but you have to locate them and then take care that you don't have permissions problems between the old and new accounts.
One other way:
IF you don't have anything important on the new MBP yet, you could do this:
a. In users and groups, create a NEW TEMPORARY account. Give it a name like "temp502" (because it occupies account ID 502) and an easy password.
b. Log into that account
c. Now, DELETE the account you created when you first booted the new MBP (the one you DID NOT migrate into). This leaves the "501 ID" space "empty and waiting" to be "re-filled".
d. Now, you need a cloned backup of your OLD MBP on an external drive.
e. Use CarbonCopyCloner (FREE to download and use for 30 days, no cost to you) to create it.
f. Create the cloned backup and connect it to the NEW MBP
g. Open Migration Assistant and let it "digest" everything. This WILL TAKE TIME and there is NO FEEDBACK, so be patient.
h. Now, select the things in your old account you wish to migrate over. You want such things like "settings", your account (naturally), etc. You can "go inside" and select what you wish to bring, and what can be left behind.
i. Proceed with the migration. This will "fill the empty 501 space" that you've created, and when done, all your settings should be there.
A WORD OF WARNING:
It's possible that some printer drivers may be made obsolete by the newer OS.
In that case, you may have to go in manually and re-do them anyway...
