Transfer unlimited data plan to new line and port out

I have one of the older iphone "unlimited" plans on at&t along with the iphone 200 message plans. Can I add a line to my existing plan, transfer both the unlimited data and messaging to that second line, and then port out the original line to another carrier? I want the original phone number to port out. The existing line is out of contract.

In short, no. Grandfathered plans must stay with the line they originated on.

No, you cant transfer the plan to another line.
It stays with that phone number or you get a new number for that line but you cant move it to another line.

Yeah that's not possible. You can port-in a number in to replace the number but it cancels the original number.
