transfer videos from AppleTV to iTunes library (not iTunes purchases)

Hello.

I accidentally deleted some videos from my iMac but they are still on my first generation AppleTV.

They are not iTunes purchases. Is there any way to copy them back to the iTunes library on my iMac?

You need to install the ssh/sftp on your appleTV and copy them as usual.
NB! The files and folders on the aTV are stored exactly as on iPod - with obfuscated names!
If the files have proper metadata, you just need to drag&drop them onto iTunes icon and it will recover the names (plus folder structure if you allowed iTunes to organise your media folder) from metadata inside the files.
