I am going to be getting a PS3 and I was wondering what the best way to move over videos to it is?

I have an external formatted for Mac OSX with tons of .avi moves on it. Do I need to switch the avi files to mpeg formating? And if I just plug the HD in will the PS3 be able to read it?

If I'm right i think the HD will need to be formatted in FAT32 in order for the PS3 to read from it. Also the videos will need to be in a folder called 'Video' otherwise the PS3 wont see them

The PS3 is able to play .avi files, so you should be ok on that front if you find a way of getting them on there.

The only way I know of copying the films to PS3 without connecting HD via USB, would be to use an application like medialink. this allows you to wirelessly stream movies from your computer to PS3. With this all setup you would also be able to copy the movies. this may take a bit of time though over wifi though
