When the iPad was initially jailbroken, the only working YouTube video downloader was MxTube (and since I only used TV-out with it, the lack of HD didn't bother me).

However, now that YourTube HD has been released, I would like to transfer all the videos I downloaded in MxTube to YourTube HD.

Is this possible? Is it as simple as transferring all the MP4 files downloaded by MxTube to the YourTube HD folder?

Thanks!

Have you just tried putting an mp4 file you have saved in the /var/mobile/media/yourtube directory and launched YouTube to see if it's there? Are you waiting to install YourTube HD until you have an answer?

I will try to put a file in there and see if it displays within the youtube app if that's what you need to hear. Let me know.

Yeah I'm just waiting to see whether the videos show up before spending the $2 for the app.

I don't even care if the name shows up correctly- the nicer interface would be worth it :p

Let me know whether it works- thanks!

Sorry, No Workee :( There seems to be some unique tagging going on with the YourTube file names.

I would still highly recommend YourTube as the superior interface, and just use iFile to watch the videos you had pulled down with MXTube or whatever else you used.

Sorry for the late reply...

Thanks for your help! I went ahead and bought YourTube HD and simply love the hi-res interface :) I guess I'll have to redownload my old videos then :p
