Transfer WhatsApp messages from Android to iPhone 7.

My wife is thinking about getting an iPhone 7 to replace her Samsing Galaxy S6. However, she doesn't want to lose her WhatsApp messages.

Going from Android to android (Google drive backup) or iOS to iOS (icloud backups) is no problem, but is there an easy reliable way to transfer from Android to iOS?

I've seen some 3rd party programs mentioned but not sure how reliable they are, and not sure I'm too keen letting a 3rd party app access messages.

Any ideas?
