Apple need to fix this and I'm surprised given it's first roll out and how long people had to wait why it's still takes forever to calculate what it thinks you want to restore. Here I am with a brand new MacBook Pro 13" with 160 GB drive and I'm trying to restore a backup from a MacBook Air's 80 GB hard drive and it's calculating before it will enable the transfer button.

In my mind there's nothing to calculate. It will fit and it shouldn't take hours
to calculate how large something that's less than 80 GB actually is.

NB: Turns out if it's taking to long to calculate you should "Go back" and start it again because after I did that it finished the calculating step in under 5 minutes where was it had been going for well over an hour before I chose to stop it.
