Hi,

The iPod touch 4g was jailbroken using limera1n.
As openssh is installed on it, I could ssh to it from ubuntu and transfer files to /var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music/<new_music_dir>/*.mp3
But the music files don't show up in default music app.

As a remedy downloaded dTunes from cydia. It shows my newly added directory if I scp it to /var/mobile/Library/Downloads but when I tap on it dTunes closes.

Also downloaded MewSeek. When I tap its icon it starts and closes without showing any buttons/widgets after 30-45 seconds.

version: 4.1(8B118)

Exactly where should the music files be transferred to so they can be played in default music player?

Being able to transfer music files without the sync hassles of iTunes was the basic reason why this iPod was jailbroken.

Please guide.

Thanks.

Let me rephrase my question.
Where do I transfer music (from my desktop) to in a jailbroken iPod touch 4g so that the songs show up in default music player?

Thanks.

never done it... so I don't have an idea were to send the music to. but when you connect your phone does it not automatically sync?
