Hello people,

I have had a macbook for 4 years and today I bought a macbook pro.
So my question is can I transfer the programs/applications from my macbook to my new pro? I know I can swap the files (photos, music, videos etc) but what about stuff like word and excel, photoshop, Adobe and the like. Will I have to buy these programs again?
Sorry if this tread is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where to post.
Cheers
:)

You have to reinstall the Applications on the new MacBook Pro. Simply copying them over won't work because the Applications have data stored in various locations on the Hard Drive; data that must be kept in the same location in order for the Application to wok properly.

As long as you still have the CDs or DVDs that the software comes off of, you can simply install it on the new MacBook Pro.
