How easy will it be too transfer all the data from my current iphone to the new 4s. It is just as easy as making a backup of the old phone on itunes, then plugging in the new phone and restoring from itunes? it wont say like "this backup is for another phone" or anything like that?

Just asking!

I cant afford to lose all my contacts, apps, photos, things like that.

Any advice?

just make sure youve synced and run a backup on your iphone 4 and you should be fine. when you plug in your 4S, it should ask if you want to start new or restore from a backup. click restore and select your backup (you probably only have 1) and itll do the rest. pretty idiot-proof
