Transfering files Macbook to Mini

Hello to all,

I have a MacBook Pro (Mid 2010) and a Mini 2012, looking to have them both transfer files between them. ie: pictures, files. folders. etc. What course is the easiest or simplest to do this. All suggestions will be welcomed. OS have been updated (not Sierra yet) and backups done. Thank you for your time reading this and suggestions given.

Direct FireWire 800 connection and Target Disk Mode is a good option.

Network sharing over Gigabit Ethernet would also be good.
