Hey all,

So my powerbook died on me recently and I need to transfer data to a thinkpad running Suse Enterprise 10.1. I have the home folder from the powerbook (10.4.X) on an external hard drive. The linux machine reads it fine, but I don't have the appropriate permissions to access the Home folder.

Solutions?

Thanks in advance...

I think you may be able to use the terminal to move those files (don't take my word for it do a little research I don't want to be responsible for any loss of data)

What I would try is to mount the drive. In terminal type 'sudo mv /Path/to/the/drive /path/to/where/you/want/the/files/to/go'

EDIT: I'm a little rusty on my terminal so you might have to type mv -i
