I have a G5 iMac and just bought a new iMac that's due to arrive today. Yay!
I have about 30 GB of photos and 20 GB of music on my G5 that I want on the new computer. I want all my playlists on iTunes and all my albums/smart albums on iPhoto. Plus all my mail and widgets. But other than that I don't want to transfer anything else to the new computer.
A while ago I somehow messed up my account on my G5 and I lost all my preferences and data. I had to drag the music back to iTunes, losing my playcounts and I had to drag all my photos back into iPhoto. And now I have an extra folder with all my old stuff that I have to idea how to get back into my account so I had to start over wtih some stuff. Here's a picture of the "duplicate" folder. (If anyone knows where those folders go, let me know)
I don't want to the duplicate folder to get transfered if I use migration assistant. So what is my best option for getting my stuff onto the new computer. I don't have an external HD. I do have a 80 GB iPod (but it's not Firewire).
