My son has a macbook w/leopard (10.5.5), and just got a Samsung camcorder (SC D382) w/miniDv. He bought a firewire (4 to 6 pin) to transfer video to his macbook for editing. He has iMovie. When we hooked up the firewire, the mac seemed to recognize the firewire, but not the camera. Yes, the camera was on, in play mode.
We called both Best Buy and Samsung, and both said the problem is the version, that the manual for the camera states that it requires Mac Os 9.1-10.4.
Can anyone help? Can this be true, that we just cannot use that camera w/that computer??
Can anyone suggest a good (under $300) camcorder that would be good to use w/Mac, and to edit on Mac? Might Final Cut Express work?
Thanks a million in advance for any help you can offer!
