Hi guys

I accidently deleted my downloads folder on my current macbook pro, and went to my backup drive and grabbed it from there to get it back. It said I had to enter my password to do the transfers (they all had the "no access" icon on the folders from old my macbook). So I transferred them to my new HD and it said 'you may have to enter your password to access these files" which was cool with me.

However, while I can click my downloads folder and see everything in there, and the files work, when I use spotlight to search for a specific file in that folder it never shows up. I've tried rebuilding the index and everything but no luck.

It's incredibly frustrating, is there a way I can get those files to show up in my spotlight search? They arne't set to private and I made sure my username had full read/write access to them.

Any help would be appreciated!
