Transferring a DVR movie to an iPhone/iPad can this be done?

I have Direct TV and recorded(DVR) a movie that was on TCM the other night. Is there a way...is there an app that would allow me to transfer the recorded content from the Direct TV box to an iOS device? I downloaded the TCM app, but that isn't a help at this time.

The movie is unavailable on dvd and I can't find it on any digital marketplace like iTunes, Google, Amazon etc.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

The movie is titled "Mafia Massacre Style" aka "The Executioner" aka "Like Father Like Son". Was released in theaters back in 1978.

possible yes, but i am not sure whether DTV allows it. My Dish Hopper allows it and it is simple as can be and all done over WIFI.

Thanks. I just found out that I need the DTV Genie Go. It's another separate piece of equipment that's needed that I don't have.
