Here's my situation. I just purchased my new Macbook Pro Retina. I will be giving my mid 2007 Macbook Pro to my girlfriend.

I want to load Lion or Mountain Lion, hopefully arriving next week, onto the 2007 MBP with a fresh install, completely wiping the computer to new.

I should note that the 2007 MBP's disc drive is no longer functioning.

What would be the best process to get a clean version of an operating system on the machine to where I am no longer an admin and the OS isn't connected to my Apple ID or account?

Thanks.

Lion can be booted off a USB device. Just install it as new, and when it reboots, let her fill in her user info.
