If I remember correctly 2 ipods can get the same apps if they sync to an iTunes with the apps, but Bossprefs is a jailbroken app. And the 2nd gen iPod Touch, as we all know, isn't capable of jailbreaking.

I may be wrong though....

My friend has a ipod touch 1st gen jailbroken 2.2 firmware. and i have a non-jailbroken (obviously) ipod touch 2nd gen 2.2 firmware. is there any possible way for a normal graphical user like me to get his apps? i.e. bossprefs and stuff? thanks alot. :apple:
No.

Just curious, does bossprefs work? like do the functions of that app actually work on the 2nd gen?

wow, have you tried putting anything else on there?

try to SSH winterboard(if thats possible) onto it and see if you can set themes.]

edit: wait, how exactly did you SSH a file into your 2G without openSSH on the ipod itself? isn't it impossible to connect to the ipod without that?

and edited some codes based off of instructions of a website

Hmm I think that's your answer there. That site probably has the info for getting as close to a Jailbreak as possible. What else can you do with Bossprefs? (i had it but re-jailbroke and never bothered to get it again)

Also I would try SSh-ing other things like Winterboard as stated above.

twitchy204: first question: i have not tried putting anything else on my itouch. (yet...)
second question: When bossprefs are installed, an option to turn on SSH is there, you turn that option on and you can ssh into it no problem.

i understand that.

how did you get bossprefs onto it via SSH? you can't turn the SSH option on using Bossprefs without actually having it on there in the first place.

you understand what im saying? im curious as to how you SSH'ed into your phone/ipod without having bossprefs on it already to turn the SSH option on.

okay, i got it. didn't know you could put a file like that onto your ipod through itunes.

keep us updated if you manage to get other apps on there.
