Did a search here and on Google but could not find an answer:
Currently have a jailbroken 3G and my iPhone 4 will be delivered sometime today. I do not want to do a restore of the 3G contents to the 4 in case any JB'en files get transferred as well and screw things up. Wondering if, when I connect the new iPhone to iTunes do I:
Name it the same name as the old 3G one?
Simply input the same email address for iTunes that the 3G uses and thereby have access to all purchased apps??
I figure that email, calendar, etc will transfer easily. I'm a bit more concerned with apps that have their own data (not synced to a cloud/server) and that those apps will lose some data in the move.
I'm probably making this more complicated than it needs to be but I greatly appreciate your thoughts.
THanks,
E
