transferring apps

Can apps from iphone 6 be transferred to macbook pro?
I couldn't find the app I wanted to transfer when I plugged my phone into my computer - I saw the list of items on my phone - voice memos, audiobooks etc. I clicked "apps" and it only showed pages 1 and 2 of the home screens, but the icons couldn't be clicked on.

You MBP can "facilitate" the apps on the iPhone by serving as a back up device, and updating on the MBP and then synching to your iPhone (a holdover, really, from an earlier time).

But native IOS apps don't run on an MBP, or vice versa.
