I need to transfer info from one internal HD onto another new internal HD, what is the best way to go about this?

I would just open a Finder window for each disk, and navigate to wherever you want to copy from, and in the other Finder window navigate to where you want to copy to. Then click and drag the files and/or folders from the from window over to the to window. Click and drag. A wonderful thing.
