U.K.
At some point in the past I made backups onto dvd's. Lots of pics, music, home movies etc. I thought it was about time to play it safe and shift the data back onto hard drives as well, now that I have few spare hd's available.

I am running this from my 2010 mbp, wirelessly, to my droboshare, (drobo).

I first transferred the dvd's onto the mbp, then opened up two finder windows and dragged the files over to the drobo, several Gb's. It was of course painfully slow, so I left it to work. When I checked the job had completed but files were missing, when I tried to recopy them, I was asked if I wanted to replace them! -- I put the drobo into standy and restarted it and viola the files were listed!

I thought I wouldn't try to move such large amounts of data in one go, so I limited it to about 4 Gb, (1 DVD), at a time. Now only the first group copy over! If I try 1.5-2Gb they copy fine, but any more than that and the transfer completes without an error message, and just misses some of the files.

Anyone got an idea of what's going on here?

EDIT: I kept trying and have finally given up. I was moving 6/7 files, all copying fine, then when the transfer completed the files would disappear. Copied them several times and the same thing happened, no "this file already exists" this time.

I have switched to my bootcamp of win7 and am moving the entire folder, so far things look okay, but it's going to take a LONG time to complete.

Could this be because the drives were formatted to ntfs? (before I got my mbp), as the drive is shared through a droboshare I didn't think this was the case, but there may be some compatibility issues?
