I just got an iPhone 5 and a Mac Air. I tried to sync my iPhone 5 with my previous laptop (white 2008 MacBook), but it's running too old of an OS to download iTunes 10.7, which I need to sync with my new phone.

I thought this would all be solved by transferring the files to my new computer and then syncing with my new phone, but I'm running into a bit of an issue. I already found the MobileSync backup files and copied them over into the Air MobileSync, but my old iPhone backup is not showing up in iTunes. How do I access it when I already have the files in the HD library?

Do I need to copy all of my iTunes over as well? I was actually trying to avoid that, because I have a TON of music that would take forever to copy, and I'm planning to prune my library a little...any ideas? Sorry if I'm being a total idiot. Any advice would be appreciated!!
