i got a new macbook and i am trying to transfer my photos from my old imac. I figured it would be as simple as dragging my "iphoto folder from my old computer to the new one, but I ended up with duplicate photos, photos in folders that they don't belong in, and no keywords.

Is there a better way to transfer all of my info?

As far as I know the way you did it was right. There is an 'iPhoto' folder in your pictures folder. Just move that whole folder to the other Mac and you should be good to go.

I don't know why you got dupes.

In my way..
i imported all my photos to my iPod
then import it all to my new MacBook.. u can give it a shot..

You want to copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures folder on one computer to the other one. Then hold down the option key when launching iPhoto and tell it to use the library you just transferred over. This way it'll upgrade the library (if it was a previous version to the one on the Macbook) or just open up the library only keeping singles of each of the images in the library.
