transferring itunes from windows to make (want to avoid losing contacts)

tomorrow i am borrowing my friends external hard drive and i plan to take my itunes folder from my pc and put it on my mac. my question is if i take the whole folder and put it on my mac will i still lose my contacts when i sync the iphone with my mac? i dont use mobile me or anything other than itunes for my phone
