So I have an iPad Pro 10.5. I record music shows and events sometimes at 2 to 3 hours non stop at 4K on my iPhone 11. Several OS updates ago (few years now), the act of transferring long videos shot on my iPhone (we're talking 30-70GB) would produce an error when I attempt to transfer that footage to my iPad with an Apple Camera Connection dongle. It would simply stop after several minutes. This has made me have to do all my video encoding inside my phone (I'm IOS only), though I would airdrop the audio to my iPad for tweaking then reintegrate it into iMovie on the phone.
My question is this. Has anyone ever transferred any long form videos from their phone to their Thunderbolt iPad? Were there any errors? I’m considering upgrading, but if it’s the same result, may hold off.
I know everyone generally airdrops and i do it too, but thought the direct line would be a bit quicker.
I (think) the error may lie in usb 2.0 speed for these huge files, bit then again, it’s never glitched transferring to a computer.
