Just wondering, albeit theoretically (as I'm jumping the gun). If, as rumored, the 2012 MBP will not have firewire or ethernet ports, then how would data from my 2009 MBP be ported over to the new one? USB?

My guess is USB for that amount of files and programs. Anyone else have a hunch?

Wifi, which has been possible since Leopard (IIRC), and is Apple's preferred method already in Lion.

Thanks, Mal. My current MBP, was bought in 2009, and I transferred everything via either Ethernet or Firewire. WiFi will make it that much easier.

There will be USB ports even if there aren't firewire ports. My external drives have both USB and firewire ports.

EDIT: I missed that it was computer to computer. So ethernet or wireless.

That's not the point of the question. Currently, Migration Assistant can't transfer data between computers via USB, and I don't see that changing (USB is not designed for computer-to-computer connections).
