Transferring mp4 files in iTunes to iPhone

I have several mpeg 4 files that are in the iTunes Movie folder under Library. In the past they were added to my iPod Touch, however, now they do not transfer to my iphone 3G S. The files are in the iPhone version format according to iTunes. When I "connect" the iPhone to iTunes & select the Movies tab, the files don't appear available to add to the iPhone. How can I get them onto the iPhone?
