transferring music from iphone to itunes?

Can it be done? My mac died and now i have to re do everything in itunes...i backed up the music but it wants be to authorize with a 3 yr old email that i don't remember the password so now itunes is useless...

unless i can find a good app to take the music off of my iphone to itunes...but they all see to be about $30

This happened to me - PC died and my music went with it. It seems there should be a way to get the music back into iTunes on a new computer, but I sure couldn't find one. Even the paid apps don't necessarily work well. I think this is an anti-pirating aspect of iTunes? If someone has an answer, I'd love to know, too.

Are you using a Mac or a PC?

If you're using a Mac you can download a program called Expod. Simply hook up any iPod or iPhone through USB and you will be able to extract the songs onto your desktop and transfer them into iTunes.
