Transferring number to 3

I am transferring my number from giffgaff micro sim to a new 3 nano sim card for the iphone 5.I have got my pac and filled in the online form to transfer the number.

Question , do i have to change the number on the iphone 5 as it is currently showing the number that came with the sim or does this change when the number has been transferred ?

It should change but ou can change manually by going to settings > phone > my number.

After its ported I'd recommend switching iMessage and FaceTime off then on again to grab your ported number, too.
