Transferring old purchases to new iTunes?

Here's my dilemma: I want to transfer a purchase I made a very, VERY long time ago of a couple of poker apps that are no longer available on the App Store. If I try to sync my phone with iTunes, it tells me that it has to erase my iPhone first and sync with the apps already on my iTunes. That would be a problem, because I can't re-download these apps from the App Store when they are deleted.

Is there another app I can use? Or am I missing something?

No provision for merging iTunes accounts.

You can logout and login on the device though.

There's a "transfer purchases" option in the file menu.

Or you can right-click (Windows or Mac) or Control-click (Mac only) your device in the iTunes Source list, then choose Transfer Purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
