I love the new option of having the Messages app erase old messages after a set period of time, since my phone is running out of space, but my issue is that I have messages going back years in there that I don't necessarily want to have disappear completely. Does anyone know if there is a way to transfer all the pre-iMessage messages i have on my phone to, say, my Mac for archival purposes, where I have a ton more space, while still allowing the iPhone to clear out its local copy of messages periodically to keep storage space available?

I used phoneview. Saves in PDFs, nice layout.
