transferring photos from IMAC to Memory card

I am trying to transfer photos to my emory card,, I created a special album in my Photo library of certain photos I want transferred (407) of them. I export them to my finder and should I be putting themin the MISC or the DCIM folder- I actually tried to do both and when I am done and put my card in my camera it tells me there are no images there...
I then put the card back into my computer and it tell me I have 217 photos there...
I am confused. Can someone please help me
