Transferring photos from macbook to iPhone 6

Hello,

It appears that I'm new here, but I'm not, cannot remember my really old username and password!

Ive just upgraded from a 5s to 6 yesterday and really enjoyed the upgrade, the screen and performance is ten times better, and the battery is great! Anyway, what I have just done is loaded all my old photos from my old iPhone to my iPhoto, in the hope that through iTunes I could then just link it all across to my new phone. But it's saying to do it through iCloud which really just isn't working.

Am I missing a very obvious trick here?

Thanks in advance! (PS not a fan of iCloud, it wouldn't restore from backups from my previous iPhone)

Have you tried through iTunes (by creating a photo album)?

When you plug you 5S into your computer, you should see a file window come up with your photos. Just copy them onto your Desktop and paste them in your iPhone 6.
