I think I screwed myself...
I just got a new computer today...my first Apple computer...and I was copying all of my photos from my external HD into Pictures using Aperture. I chose copy (not move), confirmed copy (not move), and it copied (not moved) them. Well it didnt copy them how I wanted (broke them into 40 some odd folders within 1 project) so I went back to do it a 2nd time (deleted the 9000 photos it had just copied) and this time create a project for each folder...and now all the pictures are gone from my external HD...I had just short of 9000 photos!!! I have most of them backed up at work but none of what I took this fall/thanksgiving/christmas...and now most of my engagement photos are gone as well. I have the 20 or so I wanted to edit...but I've lost all the others.
I just think it's odd that it left all of the folders on my external HD but removed the photos from each folder. What did I do wrong??? I'm assuming I'm out of luck this time once I've (wait it gets worse) emptied the trash folder.
