I get my new iMac tomorrow, provided UPS doesn't screw something up. Crossing my fingers.
I bought the iMac because, unfortunately, my late-2008 unibody MacBook died on me. Even more depressing, it was my fault and completely avoidable. You know those bottles of Starbucks Frappuccinos? An open one was kindly introduced to my keyboard and spilled its sugary love all over it. I used the opportunity to get a much better computer!
Perhaps obviously, my MacBook won't boot up. It goes to a plain white Apple logo with a loading bar, then turns itself off after the bar gets about one-fifth of the way.
My problem? I need the files on that notebook, and I need them badly.
I've already got an enclosure for a 2.5" SATA drive, so what next? When I plug it into my iMac tomorrow, will I have access to everything on that drive, or will there be security/permission issues? If there are, is there a solid way to circumvent this in order to get to all of my documents?
My apologies if this was posted in the wrong forum. I'd appreciate any advice you guys have to give.
Thanks!
