Transferring SMS from Phone iMessage to Mobile

I backed up my Phone two weeks ago through iTunes. Because it was a 50Gb Backup, I transferred it to external drive. Now I am unable to restore my phone. Anyways, got a new phone now from Apple so trying to recover everything possible.

Had pictures backed up. Just realized that I have all the SMS on my MAC in the messages section.Is there anyway to transfer them to my phone ?
