Hello folks,

I have a question regarding PCIe SSD's.

In case I sell my current MP 5.1 tower, I would like to keep all SSD drives. Since the iMac Pro is not modular, I would need to stick those cards into an external box and use a usb-c or TB3 for connecting.
Those three SSDs are a Samsung 951 AHCI flash blade (512) in the PX1 Adapter, a Hyper X Predator 960 with modded heatsink and a SATA SSD on a Accelsior S adapter from OWC.

The box in the link below does work with regular USB cards like the Blackmagic Decklinc and USB cards and such. However, can I use it just as an external SSD Block for those three pcie SSD cards?

My SATA SSD on the OWC is a 1TB, so I end up having 2,5 GB fast SSD to a standard config iMac Pro.
I think that would be certainly a neat addition to a standard iMP package, what do you think?

The other issue is with the Nvidia 980Ti. Its a flashed version so I can get my money back. But the MP 5.1 might sell a lot cheaper without that card + I would need an original Apple OEM GPU which I don't have.

The other option is to scrap the SSD external idea, sell those, and put the 980Ti in external eGPU case.
But then I am almost sure, I will need the SSD space more then an external 980 eGPU. Would there be a case where that scenario would make sense? I am not sure how the 980TI compares to the Vega56 or even the Vega 64. I am not clear on the difference between those OEM GPUs either.
