Transmission and my MacBook

so I've been using transmission since I moved over to mac. I torrent quite a bit. But recently I was trying to torrent a file and noticed that my DL speed was slow. I never seem to get more that maybe 30kb/s. So as a test I got my TD to download the exact same file on her mac which is exactly like mine and she was getting much higher DL speeds than I was. She was getting speeds of up to 150kb/s at time and averaging around 80-100kb/s. I was just wondering how that is possible?

Increase the number of connections to peers and try not to oversaturate your upload.

Maybe more seeders or it may have been something wrong with your ports. Not sure...
